Obtaining distilling license

So I know we're mostly brewers here but this is still a good starting point. How do you obtain a commercial distilling license? How do I find the cost? And is there such a thing as a home/personal distilling permit?

Any indication as to where to start looking would be great.

As far as I know there is even worse restriction on distilling than there is on Beer making . It is definitely illegal to distill without a licence .

I reckon you're better off buying ethanol from Carberry Dairy Products and mixing it with whatever . It's what Smirnoff do apparently ..

Contact your local Revenue office. They'll tell you how to apply. Good luck!

The Revenue Commissioners are in the process of drawing up new rules and instructions for setting up a distillery which should be published early this year.
