Avoid Eircom Broadband rant!!! Non Beer related 16 years 3 months ago #1

If you are reading this you probably dislike the quality of eircom broadband. if you find your connection slow beat this, last night i tested my broadband speed through the eircom speed tester and the highest speed i was achieving was 106kbps which then promptly fell to under 56.6 kbps, today after supposedly trying to fix my problem i am recieving 26 kbps, you have no idea how long it took me to even get my computer online today, if you can beat my sob story or have one of your own please feel free to add it, i might even send a link to eircom try nd shame them into doing something about their C**p product.

Rant over, thanks for letting me vent my non beer related anger.

The last contact I had with Eircom was a knock on the door a while back asking if I'd like to swap to Eircom. I promised never to use them again after they tried to sink Smart a while back.
My answer to the people at the door.
"Eircom can kiss my hairy hole", two of the three of them laughed.

Getting this on a 3mb connection on BT (now Vodafone). Can't complain.

Have you checked that there is nothing connected to your line that does not have a DSL filter ? Sky connected a box to my phone line before without a filter and it killed my broadband speed.

Just for balance:

I'm on 1Mb, and although we had issues in the past I've no problems with their BB speed.

I also love beer and have a disdain for all things EIRCOM; lol!

I had absolutely nothing but problems when I had EIRCOM; switching to BT was even MORE fun because EIRCOM instantly shutoff my service as soon as they received the notice that I was switching to BT.

-I was still getting charged by EIRCOM but when I'd call them they insisted that I was no longer listed as a customer; I called BT and of course I hadn't reached the switch over date to BT yet, so they couldn't do anything for me, and EIRCOM had to make the PHYSICAL switch over to BT so again 100% waiting on EIRCOM. (When I first moved to Ireland it took 30 days for EIRCOM to even get me a working phone line, and 50 days for DSL service to be turned on on that line.) -I found it infinitely hilarious how EIRCOM "owned" both my phone service AND my DSL service and insisted that they could not tell me whether DSL service would be availble on my line until AFTER they installed the phone service and I signed a 1 year phone service contract with them..?!? -They're YOUR lines!! OF course you can tell me; no one else can!! -Do any of my neighbors have EIRCOM DSL?!? -If so, that means I can get it.
I've never seen such a cluster @#$% in my life.

EIRCOM, Wells Fargo Bank, and Sprint: The three companies that I've banned for life. They will never receive a dime from me. There's regular incompetence, and then there's these three companies that are in a league by themselves...

I forgot to add that in the middle of my contract with EIRCOM my internet randomly went down for 13 days in a row before it was repaired.

I tried to tell them that I'm a remote employee and my livelihood relied upon my broadband connection, to which they replied "then you should've bought the business package"...

This is the "major leagues" of customer dissatisfaction; they are the absolute best at completely ignoring customers of any organization I've dealt with. I think they might have a room full of researchers somewhere trying to find new, cutting-edge ways to get just that last little bit of dissatisfaction out of customers. (If anyone can do it; I'm sure THEY can.)
