Looks like excise is payable on home brew!

Where did this come from?

I found that same article a while back on the revenue website somewhere. I remember talking about it, or well asking if I'm in trouble with the taxman, at the last meeting or maybe the one before that again. I'll see if I can dig out the pdf and stick up a link to it

I am getting some beers down from the North today and needed to get an update on the excise situation. this document is straight from the horses mouth

"Home" seems to refer to beer brewed in Ireland. The spirits refer to "Home" and "Imported"


Edit: On closer inspection there seems to be three categories of beer: 1. Home produced, 2. Other home and 3. Other imported
