Help - Broken Thermometer 16 years 10 months ago #1

I was just getting my gear together for two kit brews. I dropped my thermometer on the floor and it broke.

Where would I be able to get one tomorrow? I am in Leixlip. Could go into the city or most shopping centres.

meat thermometers are in the right range. you can get them in any cookery shop. also in the pound shop style places. the spike and dial variety should be about a fiver. I'm sure I saw one in kitchen compliments on chatham (?) st. You could also try tk maxx in stephens green, they are good for kitchen stuff.

Oh yes. I have/had one of those. Cannot find it though. Will look in TK Max in blanchardstown tomorrow.

With the hot weather atm am afraid that I may dehydrate the yeast at too high a temperature.

Will also get a couple of stick-on thermometer strips in a pet shop. I suppose the ones for fish tanks will do fine for fv buckets?

If you get the tropical water ones, they tend to do a temp range fron 17 or 18 to 28 or 29. Bottom to top ( fast but a bit too fruity) ale.

Get one of the floating thermometers for aquariums. They go from 0 to about 70.
