Aran Mor labels state it is brewed in the EU which is a little cheeky but entirely accurate.

I think the actual phrase is:
"Brewed in the EU
Árainn Mhór Brewing Co.
Burtonport
Co. Donegal"

It's hard not to read a "by" which isn't there.

On Google, from their site you get "Arainn Mhor Brewing Company is an Irish Microbrewery based on an island located off West Donegal".
I think that's beyond cheeky.

Their actual site seems to be down at the moment so I don't know if it still says this.

Compare this to Strangford Lough Brewing Company, who say in their publicity:

"As a new business, our strategy is to bring our beers to the Irish markets around the world as soon as possible. We are therefore proposing to partner with leading breweries around the world to produce our traditional beers to the high quality standards we specify. We are already working with partners in Ireland, the UK and the USA.

"While we are already providing local employment our aim is to eventually increase this by building a brewery on the shores of Strangford Lough. Our aim is to do this when our brands are established and the business can afford the significant investment to build a brewery which can produce our exciting beers at the quality we expect."

Which is pretty up-front and honest.

That's because Strangford Lough Brewing Company actually care about the beer, while Arran More appear to be a Beer Brand, where the beer itself is secondary to the marketing.

The bottle label waxes lyrical about the history of the Island and the “Secret Essence of Arran More” but it tells you nothing about the beer. This is a brand with a beer attached, not a beer with a brand name.

I think the fact that the Arran More glass is too small for a bottle of Arran More beer, is very telling. What brewer would allow that to happen? It's obvious that they just wanted a beer glass with their logo on it and gave no thought to how it would suit the beer.

I have heard vague fairy stories about the possibility of them opening a brewery on the island, but that's just not feasible. Breweries use vast amounts of water and Arran More already import a significant portion of their drinking water from the mainland.

Also note that their office is actually in Burtonport, which is on the mainland, not on the Island.

Even oddlier their registered office, according to the CRO, is in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon.
