I got hold of a copy of Business and Finance yesterday. Page 60 gives you George Lenkers article on the state of play regarding the commercial craft brewing scene here. George is an Irishcraftbrewer member. I am embarrassed to be quoted in the article as a "beer aficionado" - Thanks George! Anyway, it's good to see a publication such as B&F publishing an article on the topic.

Actually, what I took exception to was the line: "while sipping a pint of Oyster stout". Me? Sipping? Nah, gulping maybe!!

It's a good read. Not a surprise that our microbrewing industry isn't a pot of gold, but it is encouraging that some are making a living exclusively within the Irish market. In addition to Carlow, Kinsale are big exporters, and, I've heard Aran Mor's plans are in that direction too.

They'd want to stop [i:1w1bc2s9]importing[/i:1w1bc2s9] first. Árainn Mhór beers are made in Belgium, I discovered to my horror from the ICB guys I met a couple of weeks ago. Árainn Mhór labelling is disingenuous in the extreme.
