This is adding up to load of plastic Taiwanese Leprechauns.

Wow, that's pretty cynical behaviour. I tried the lager - thought it seemed pretty bland for a micro. So maybe you've shed some light on that. Are either of their other beers up to any standard?

I believe I heard somewhere that by basing their business on Árainn Mhór they put themselves in the way of various grants and start-up incentives. If true, and if most of their business is conducted on the mainland, I get the sense of a scandal.

I thought Rua was decent, if a bit rough round the edges. Haven't tried the Bán yet but I've one sitting in the queue at home.

They'd get support from Údarás na Gaeltachta whether they were in Burtonport or Arranmore as both are Gaeltacht areas. I don't know if they're claiming a presence on the island itself or if there's any extra incentives to be had from doing so.

I've tried both and they are OK, but not great. The red in particular displays a Belgian character, I think.

I was underwhelmed by both beers.
