Ordered a box of beer from beerangel yesterday.

I was getting bored drinking Flensburger trying to build up my collection of swingtops, but thanks to a suggestion from Wallacebiy, all the bottles I ordered were swingtops.

Order cost me €65 for 29 bottles (apparently swingtops are heavier than standard bottles so I couln't order 30!)
So it works out at €2.24 per bottle which is really good for such a wide slection of beers.

I'll have to take notes of the ones that I try so that I'll remember what they all taste like.

I ordered a load of Oktoberfest beer a few weeks back, and following DHL losing it 3 or 4 times it finally arrived on Monday minus 4 bottles. Bloody great

Still works out good value, and it's hard to begrudge anyone a good beer, but it was MY good beer, dammit! Stupid DHL workers...

Have e-mailed beerangel, will see what they can do for me. Also no sign of the König Ludwig Weißbiers I was promised to replace the one that came mostly empty the last day, again we'll see how their customer service department holds up.

We had a chat on here a while ago about importing beer, and decided that under EU law the vendor is responsible for ensuring that taxes are payed. Are you saying that we were wrong on that, and if so could you point us towards the relevant legislation?

Not wanting to be all pedantic, but at the same time if you've got it wrong I'm sure that's something you'd like to know By the same token if we were wrong, I'd like to know that.

As I understand it, Irish Revenue do insist that phil_L pay them for beer he exports to Ireland. However Irish Revenue may as well insist that phil_L wear a silly hat and dance the macarena for all the authority they have in phil_L's home jurisdiction. The only power they really have is to stop the beer and bill an Irish person (the punter) for it.

I'll see if I can find out more.

Nope, I'm wrong.

As far as Revenue are concerned, you the customer are the importer of the goods. It is up to [i:1rie9i69]you[/i:1rie9i69] to get everything square with Revenue before phil_L dispatches your beer. For information on how to do this, see here[/url:1rie9i69].
