Belfast Ale 17 years 3 months ago #1

A new beer for Ollie tonight after a quick trip to Sainsburys in Newry, Belfast Ale from Whitewater Brewery (remember i'm new here), not a bad tipple at all, also got a few bottles of Spitfire from Shepard Neame, an old favorite.
Well thats all, still waiting to here off any beer fans in Louth.

i didn't think the Belfast ale was all that great. Good as a traditional Irish red go, so it's probably the style I find flavorless ;-(

I think it's streets ahead of any Irish red, and would tend to class it more as a darker English-style pale ale. If you can get hold of any of Whitewater's Clotworthy Dobbin, Ollie, that's even better.

I was also disappointed with the Belfast Ale. But then again even a good red ale tends to be crap.

Hey Ollie.
I'm a bit of a newbie too and know what it's like to find something new, although I guess that never stops!:D
I like the O'Hara's Red myself but I'm a bit biased.
Interested to see what you think of the Spitfire.
