On Sunday, I finally did my my first brew since relocating from Scotland to Essex and I'd suggest this as an exercise for anyone planning to convert a garage, shed or outhouse to a home brewery since it helped me to decide how I want to arrange things as I proceed to sort the brewery out.
The beer I brewed was a relatively simple ~95% pale malt, ~5% crystal malt, OG~1035 recipe with a single variety of hops. The aim was essentially to check everything and get an idea of the water supply with a relatively simple "calibration" brew. However, one novelty was the use of Argentine Cascade hops that I obtained in Buenos Aires in August (my wife is Argentine). For information, these hops cost me just under 200 pesos for 2kg, which works out at about £1.50 for 100g! Of course, the costs of getting to BA etc. completely wiped out any savings I made on the hops. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt="

The brew is now fermenting happily, but I was wondering what to call the beer. Any suggestions?
