Yes, it might be clear to you, me and most of the membership, but if someone acts on this, and gets it wrong, and points a finger this way, the authorities may not see it as "just a message board". After all, ICB as a group is perceived as an advocacy group of sorts, at least within craft brewing circles.

What Séan is saying above is [i:18sj4j7j]Caveat Vendor[/i:18sj4j7j]. ICB members are of course free to post relevant information, but anyone wishing to act on this information clearly do so at their own risk, and we would advise them to check with qualified experts on such matters in order to be sure of full compliance with the country's tax laws. The ICB Editorial Team are not responsible for misinterpretation or how people act on the above information.

I'm sure you understand why we have to make such a statement. It's not just melting your best cookware in a failed brewing attempt <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

So, what kind of business model would it have to be to be selling not less than four and a half gallons to a single person? Selling to beer clubs? Custom brews for the B&C? Hmmm... Now that might be an interesting outlet... A guest tap in the B&C anyone?

Yea needless to say the expressions here are just opinions and not legal or revenue advice.

I would love to be in a situation of bieng able to supply small kegs of beer, people could rent or preferbly purchase their own dispencing system. and have a large menu the could choose from with a six week lead time or choose from one of the four standard styles of the house.

More and more people are sick of the pubs and are drinking at home among friends, that is where the market is, It's not going to get me rich but I'd be making a few pound doing somthing I like.

Now if all obsticals were dealt with what would one charge, do you match the pub price, go off license prices or charge a bit more for a craft product.

renting equipment would be a pain and I would try and avoid it, you would need a deposit for the value of the equipment as I'm sure you would get stories of it bieng stolen etc

Christmas would be a definite runner as well.

Write a petition to Trevor Sergeant to allow small brewers to sell smaller amounts at farmers markets.
