Well, it wasn't based on some mad calculation, if that's what you're thinking <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="

Over here they seem to sell the stuff in 50m rolls, but you can buy it by the metre. I knew that I was going to end up with a chiller coil that was wider than the one I made before, but I wanted it to be tall enough to cover as deep a wort as my boiler could handle, so I went for a little longer than the 10m. As it turns out, the guy did a rough calculation on a piece that was remaining, said it was about 12 and just charged for 12. It turned out to be 14 metres, so after trimming excess, the chiller has 13m of copper! Bloody heavy when it's filled with water too <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="

I'm sure there's a limit to how effective a coil can be, and an optimal length, but I've no idea how to work that out!
