Today saw the last piece of the puzzle come together. Went off with a friend and got 14 metres of copper for a monster chiller which was built and is now ready for my first brew day since moving to Germany. There's an article on the making of this in the publication machine already (i.e. TheBeerNut. I have no control any more! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="

The rest of my new kit has been building up over the past three or four weeks, the pride and joy probably being the 30 litre stainless steel boiler that has a very nice thermostat. It's basically a "canning" pot that has a juicing function. At least that's how I sold it to my wife <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="

" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> I've tested the thermostat briefly, and I reckon it'll be good enough to use as a mash tun with some minor modifications. The rest is just standard stuff that i had to acquire after the split of the Larkfield Brewery. It was a bit like a divorce, with Kieron getting the chiller and bottle tree, and me getting the bottle rinser, syphon tubes and a big spoon <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="

Anyway, tomorrow is brew day, after about four months away from the boiler. Wish me luck! I need this first IPA to be bloody tasty! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="
