I was asked by Bruce to pass this on. Anyone familiar with the workings of the RDS beer festival will know who Bruce is.

The team behind Belfast Craft Beer Festival[/url:3getvv5k] are looking for some bloggers to get involved in promotion. There will be some tickets and other perks likely in return.
I think they ideally want some people there on the Friday to tweet or Facebook as they are there. It's not limited to Friday though.

It would ideally suit Northern Ireland based bloggers I'd say but anyone who can make it up, especially on the Friday would be welcome I'd say.

Anyone interested, contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more info.

And just to note, for compliance, that anyone involved with this would have to mark every post as being sponsored.

Actually my understanding of that one, and there has been a lot of discussion on the Irish Bloggers facebook group is that you only need to do that if you have been paid for the promotion. Or if you receive something for free but the promoter has the final decision over the content.

Neither of these apply here.
That said, it would be best for the sake of transparency to always tell your audience when you get something for free.

For instance: "A blogger is on a press trip and sharing on social media, how should they make it clear that this is a
‘freebie’?
If there is no control over what is being written by the blogger (via the social media) then the content is not
marketing communications".

[quote:36d1uelx]looking for some bloggers to get involved in promotion[/quote:36d1uelx]If you're attending to promote the event then the organiser is exercising control over your content, so the ASAI rule applies. That's how I would read it. If it's just a freebie with no strings, that's different, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I'll trust your legal eye on that one then.

Heh. Maybe I'm being a bit Jesuitical. Or just don't want other people to have nice things for free
