Homebrew expo 2011 15 years 1 month ago #7

I'd love to go to this as I missed it last year (before I started brewing). Not sure I've any beers worth sharing yet though <!-- s:oops: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" alt="" title="Embarassed" /><!-- s:oops: -->

Hi Sean.

Maybe try and confirm a date while you are at it with the lads in the well, as it seems nothing has been agreed or discussed at this point, and people can't commit to coming, if they don't know when it's on. Don't know yet if I am around at the weekend, but probably a good opportunity to nail down the date.

Cheers,
Billy.

What exactly does the Expo involve? Do we all bring along brews and practice or RDWHAHB skills, or is it more a place for Homebrew suppliers to show their wares?

Not sure what RDWHAHB is? It's definitely more of a day to show what craft brewing is about, rather than a trade day. The Expo usually involves people bringing brews to be sampled by non brewers and brewers alike, so that people can understand what can be achieved from homebrewing. 1 person would normally do an all grain brew on the day, so that non all grainers can see how easy it is, and there would normally be representation for the homebrew company.

I imagine this will be discussed over the week-end.

I feel if it is to go ahead there would need to be a meeting held fairly soon and get a rough idea of how many people would be available to help on the day, pick a suitable day well ahead to facilitate as many as posslble, see if this is o.k. with the Well and see who could bring samples etc. I think it would need at least 7 or 8 people available on the day to help with the running of it.

RDWHAHB = Relax, Don't Worry, Have A Home Brew. Papazian is my wing-man.

I've posted in the Brew-Day board looking for someone who'd let me sit in on an All Grain brew-day. And who wouldn't want to sample the wares! I am suddenly very interested. I've just about got to the stage where my more recent brews are actually pride-worthy.

Where is it usually held? My attendance will depend on when the expo is on, but I am provisionally in.
