For this event is it completely necessary to be there from 2 onwards? i may not be able to make it in until after 3 and am wondering if that would be too late to turn up?

Well that was a fantastic event, well done to the Cork crew for putting it on.
Good crowd, great buzz and enthusiasm, and some crackin beer.
Mind there were some reputable forum users that seemed a little unsteady before the night was out <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

Went excellent cheers to Shane from the homebrewcompany for coming along and really showing off the variety on offer and bringing a lovely beer with him for punters to sample tafs stout in pressure barrell and ale from a corny went down a treat too. Over 60 l of homebrew consumed , 25 l brewed and in a fermenter and a great day had by all. Many thanks to the Franciscan Well management and staff for all their help. Looking forward to next years already !

I hope you are not calling me reputable?

I also thought that it went really well. A huge amount of samples given out, and a lot of people genuinely interested in brewing, with lots of questions being asked and answered. The two kegs that I was serving felt a bit like the fishes and the loaves, as they seemed to just keep pouring. I was both relieved and a bit sad when they eventually emptied. There was a lot of people interested in taking the step to all grain, so hopefully me managed to give them that final little push. A few people did really well out of the hop plants that I brought, as several others wanted one, but didn't want to drag them around for the rest of the evening.

Thanks to all!
