a little OT but I had a pint of Guinness Mid-Strength last night in Gibneys... never heard of it till last night

yeah i heard of it about 2 weeks ago when one lad was out driving and drinking that stuff - meant he could have about 2 pints instead of the 1. doesn't seem to be advertised at all.

It was on trial in Limerick last year. Didn't realise it had an official release.

I agree with the first bit, but I think the cider market has come a long way in the last couple of years. Bayeaux is almost commonplace and I've seen Aspall a few places since first encountering it in the Beerhall Challenge. And Koppaberg is huge, though I don't know how well-regarded it is among the cider people. It all seems to me to be some distance from Ritz and Scrumpy Jack.

It's still on trial, having been first test-marketed in Limerick of all places since last year.
