Dublin Brewing Co beers back? 16 years 5 months ago #1

Baffled and delighted to see taps reading "Revolution Red" and "D'Arcy's Stout" at Sin E last night.

They don't seem to be the original recipes - D'Arcy's is now tagged a chocolate stout and tastes it while the Revolution is called an IPA and does have a nice little hoppiness at the end.

The handprint logo of Dublin Brewing was on the signs but no other hints as to origin, and the barman didn't know anything.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, searched the archives and found no mention. Anybody know who is making this?

Interesting. Dunno the story, but this isn't the first instance of it happening: they had Weston's cider rebadged as Wicked -- the old DBC brand -- earlier this year.

There was a partially obscured DBC poster on the window of The Cobblestone in Smithfield as I walked by earlier. Unfortunately it wasn't open yet. I'm not far from there though so I might go check it out later on!

I was hoping for some stout in the Cobblestone but it was not to be. They have the Sparta Pils, Celis White and Wicked cider which I have just read about on the BeerNut's blog. I thought the Pils was ok and enjoyed the Celis White which I'll definitely be having next time I'm in there. Couldn't be bothered with the cider!

DBC still owe me money for fixing their network....free beer was not sufficient payment although I suspect they thought it was, never again.

I had a couple of pints of Darcy's Chocolate stout in Sin É the other night....tasted very similar to Porterhouse Chocolate Truffle Stout. Could it be rebadged Porterhouse Chocolate Truffle Stout?
