Supposedly Greene King IPA is currently Britain's favourite cask Ale IPA but this has confused me altogether. This apparent IPA comes in with a strength of 3.6% and has very little hoppy tastes that I could find. Very contradictory of an Indian Pale Ale. I really like Greene Kings Suffolk Strong and one of my favourite Ales is Old Speckled Hen. Can't help but feel a little robbed by this one...[/quote:mqiv07jq]

I've just one point to add on this... Greene King "IPA" is the most popular real ale in Britain but that's mostly because GK are swallowing up local brewers. It's very sad.

I thought Ruddles was only ok and I think Abbot Ale is a bit overrated. Strong Suffolk Ale is one of my favourite English beers though.

Tried 3 Greene King beers in and idylic Oxfordshire opub over the last two days. None of them any good. I know the landlord knows his stuff and has finally decided to sell his lease because he has no choice but to buy beer from the Greene King brewery who own the pub. My heart always sinks these days when I see Greene King on the taps. Years ago it had such a good reputation, but things do change it seems.
