Electric Picnic - Least worst cheapish canned beer 16 years 8 months ago #1

Forgot about the ban on glass bottles in the campsites at the Electric Picnic (first time camping) and am kicking myself for not getting cans of hobgoblin up north last week.
So what would you recommend for cheapish cans? Was in Lidl earlier and couldn't decide between the excelsior and the grafewalder, neither was really exciting me and to be honest i may end up just bringing my bottles of ale down and popping out to the car park and transferring the beer into plastic litre bottles, decisions decisions!
Help!

best cheapo cans is Oranjeboom...6 for about 7 quid. Or cans of bass are a euro in Tesco...3.8% though

You can get Newcastle brown ale in cans in most supermarkets. Generally I'd go for Carlsberg myself if I was buying cans.

I tried to get into the electric picnic this year to sell my beer, unfortunately I'm not legally able to yet as I dont have my licence. However, Diagio have it fully wrapped up. Absolutely no other beers allowed. I think its a disgrace. In every other aspect its the coolest festival ever. They have so much power its amazing. I think by next year (surely)I'll be setup. I think an Irish Craft Brewer presence would be a great start next year. I'll spend the next 6 months trying to convince them..... If not, how about an underground corny keg bar in the campsite next year ????

I'd imagine by this time next year Homebrew/Microbreweries will have a much higher profile than that of present and as a result I'd say it'd be difficult for the organisers not to have some type of Craft Beer on sale.

Also, I'd say not having a license is a big factor too but at least you're on their case early for next year!
