totally - they cant ignore it if there is a demand. O'haras and porterhouse were v close to taking part this year, but were stopped last minute by the big boys. Maybe the way in is to have a craft beer area where there are tutored tastings, all the irish micros, homebrew area, demos etc etc and keep it really educational. They are in to that kind of thing.

I realise that I'll need to be licenced..... the revenue are being very helpful luckily.

PieMinister had cider in the past. They told me that this year Heineken would not allow them to sell it.

Hop Head from a corny is amazing BTW. Oliver said the bottled Hop Head is even better.

where oh where was that available?

i ended up bringing carlsberg which i didn't really drink any of, sticking to the vodka and copella apple juice and then whiskey and apple juice (a surprisingly nice combo).

rupert, it's not diageo it's whatever heineken are called now, just paulaner and heineken on tap not even murphys/beamish available.

at the second picnic the body and soul arena had a bar with a few belgian beers on tap and delerium tremens and a few other bottles was great but the last couple of years they've had the 'man' in charge there so no smaller brews, also i think david llewllyn (?) had his cider for sale and of course pie minister had lovely scrumpy for sale. hope you get in next year.

It wasn't available. We saw the Porterhouse guys and said hello. Oliver kindly offered us some beer from the keg they'd brought in. It was Hophead and it was fantastically fresh and tasty. As AFIM said Oliver says the bottled version is great and should be available soon.

I'd love to see craft beers at the picnic. They had lots of crafts, slow and local foods so why not craft beer? I could get all cynical here and go on a rant about Heineken but I won't.
