Unusual beers in Devenys 19 years 2 weeks ago #1

Hey,
was in Devenys offlicence in Dundrum last night, and they have an impressive array of 'not your usual BMCH' beers, don't remember all, but they had Bishops Finger, also a rake of polish ones,Wychwood circlemaster and fiddlers elbow, and some blacksheep - holy grail and black sheep ale.

Not sure of prices, but still great to see more and more 'unusual' beers becoming available. Always found Devenys to be fairly good. They ordered in Erdinger Christmas and October brews for me a while back. Not sure how the other shops match the Dundrum one though

If you're in the area you should also check out Redmonds in Ranelagh. They do a fantastic selection of all sorts, but have an especially good selection of ales, including all the ones you mention above.

I haven't been in a Deveneys in years, so it's good to know! Sad thing is, I used to work in Dundrum Village, but the office moved to the other side of the city Would have been so handy to get a few bottles during lunch. (for after work I stress! )

Speaking of off licenses getting better stock these days (long may it continue), n1mbus said he heard the "new" Colmans off license in Rathgar was pretty good. I used to live on Rathgar Road and bought most of my beer in the Vintry in the village, and I remember them telling me Colmans had a big import business, so it might be worth taking a peek in there.

They also have Boon Geuze in as well - I mentioned it to them the other day and when I popped in last night they told me they got it in for me, fair play! Haven't seen it anywhere else.
