Croatian Beer Recommendations? 17 years 11 months ago #1

Following on from the European Championship of Beers thread, and my failed attempt to find anything tasty while In far northern Sweden last month, does anyone have any experience with/recommendations for Croatian beer?

I'll be heading to Zagreb in just over a weeks time, so you must be able to get Croatian "craft beer" there! Kiruna in Sweden was just a little off the beaten track when it came to interesting beers in the regular bars, and being primarily a mining town.. well, enough said

I was in Croatia a few years back, lovely spot, not much to report on the good beer front. Generic lager will have to do you I'm afraid, but there's always wine...

I found Zlatterog and Lasko to be quite drinkable for lagers, but that was a couple of years ago so my mind may have been clouded..

With the help of Google Earth and Scoopergen (??) I've plotted the bars he suggests, and know just how far I might have to stagger back to the hotel. That Belgian spot is just around the corner, and the Little Bear (makes me think of Bruges) isn't too far either.

Thanks guys!

(TBN, so are you a Scooper, considering the notebook? )

Out and proud. Though I prefer the term "ticker" -- it's notebookier. I wrote about this here[/url:2hhcocid]
