On the map it looks a short hop from Torp airport up to Moss where there's a brewery-restaurant: you drive north to Horten then get the ferry across the fjord. Could be handy on the way to or from Oslo, though only if someone else is driving, of course. I'd say they take a bit of a dim view of driving with a few beers on board, up Norway way.

looks like you had a great time

Was the IPA America or Enhlish and was the porter a classical or Baltic?

Sounds good. When doing this sort of trip in UK I use the Camra good beer guide as my tour map. Must get on and do my research on Norway

Torp is not too far from Drammen which is where HaandBryggeriet are based. Judging by their website they are open to visitors, they're basically homebrewers who have taken things up a notch and brew commercial beer in their spare time.

The IPA uses Marris Otter and English Ale Yeast but the hops are very much the in-your-face American 'C' hops. The Porter is probably American in style, although it's better than the American Porters I have tried so far. I think it's around 7%, with lots of chocolate and coffee flavours coming through.

Easter trip to Copenhagen 18 years 1 month ago #11

I've got plenty of beer info on Denmark from recent Easter trip and loads of previous other trips. Guess it's my turn to contribute to this website by actually trying to write an article then. I'd volunteer for leading a trip to Denmark to do further research too!

Cool. Are you going to the big Copenhagen gig[/url:3s0yj4kb] in September?
