I share BITR's disappointent that the coffee porter was not left in Cork!!!!! I had two pints of it from cask and thought it was very nice and different, a new taste to me but very nice all the same. Only had it from cask. Enjoy it guys in the B&C
guys i was in there on saturday and i thought it was beautiful. maybe a little sweet but without reading this or acually going upstairs(they brought it to me!)and looking at the tap i thought it tasted a litle like hooker. i really liked it . im a huge dark beer fan and i could have stayed drinking that all night. id like to see that become a seasonal special. fair play to aidan and the hooker crew!
Managed to visit the Bull and Castle for a big night out a couple of weeks back. It was high on my list of places to visit while I was home and I wasn't disappointed.
I agree with a lot of the comments that it was quite light for a porter but I absolutely loved it. I was back in Ireland after 3 weeks in Italy and the coffee notes brought back many fine coffee drinking memories of my trip.
My espresso-addicted uncle refused to have more than a sip of it. He said it was putting a lip on him for some coffee.
i really liked this had it last week, different to what i was expecting and i echo the 'mild' comparisons. anyone know if this will be made again? is there any left in the b&c?
