I bought one from Superquinn, Lucan the other week. 750ml swingtop bottle, 6% ABV. Interesting to note on the label information on bottle refund schemes from Quebec and Sth Australia, and also the name of the importer .....to Croatia, of all places (Irsko tamno pivo)!

Anyway, the bottom line for me is that I was not overly impressed with the stout. Not a patch on the glorious Porterhouse Celebration, but then of course it is a different beer with a much lower ABV. I thought it to be a bit bland, a touch metallic and not much roastiness.

Thats my 2 cents worth anyway.

Hmm, I might be heading to Croatia in June. Might give me a chance to pick one up and give it a try Who'd have thought!

I was under the impression it was of similar potency to the PH Celebration (of which I do have a bottle in storage thanks to Mr. BeerNut). What does it weigh in at?

I wouldn't say their regular stout would be my favourite (certainly not the draught version, found it a bit "charcoaly" or dusty tasting, if you know what I mean ) but I'd still like to try this.

It's been spotted in the blogosphere as far away as New Zealand[/url:xgbxzoqz], so it should be all over the place in Croatia

6%.

I shared a bottle, and must admit I liked it; as in I'd buy it again, if I happened upon it.
Their normal stout is a great stout, from the bottle. On the occasion I've had it on draught it's been quite enjoyable too.

I've had bad pints of draught O'Hara's, and ones where the last drop was the only one at a temperature where I could taste anything. It's just not different enough from Guinness on draught, IMO.

I much prefer their bottled regular stout to the draught, but then I think I prefer all bottled stouts to their nitrogenated draught (or canned! ) counterparts. To be honest, I can't remember now what the last bottled O'Hara's I had was like That's a bad sign either for my brain, or my opinion of it
