I bought one bottle at the Festival, but I feel as though I should have something to celebrate before I crack it open. Do we [i:2svuluh2]celebrate [/i:2svuluh2]April Fool's day?

I picked up three in the Abbot a few weeks ago and had my first one yesterday evening. I can't really put my finger o it but it did not do it for me. I thoughtit was o.k. and pleasant to drink but not spectacular. I was hoping it wculd be somewhere on a par with the Porterhouse Celebration (albeit a lower alcohol level( but I hatge to say it did not do it for me and I am a big fan of O'hara's Stout and Red. I

r people are really desperate to get same I might auction my remaining two gottles to the highest bidders!!!!

Seriosuly though from talking to the guy from O'hara's at the Well Beerfest I reckon there should be a fair bit around if people find the right places. I think Dave in the Bierhaus in Cork was going to get in a couple of cases as well.

I reckon it'll start to trickle through to retailers eventually.

Found an interesting interview with Seamus here[/url:2h6wlsnh]. A whopping 70% of Carlow beer goes to export. It's only hinted at here, but I'd fear the weak dollar could really make life tough for Irish craft brewing.

$10 for a four pack of Celebration!? Lucky customers, but their margins must be minimal.

I would guess that 70% was even more a couple of years ago. In another interview last year or so he said they were now beginning to focus more on the Irish market, what with the upturn in interest in craft beer here.

I think there may have been a crossed wired there and he means the red and regular stout -- he talks about moving from six-pack to four-pack, which doesn't make sense for a brand new product, and there's a four-pack of Red depicted.

Those are 33cl bottles too: not even a full US pint. I wonder does the imported cachet make up for the short measure?
