Thanks lads for the palaces to visit, i had a great time and some nice real ales

I was really surprised how may people where drink Guinness where there was good ale on cask, an how there was no real ale brewer with a cask stout in an of the pus I visited

Here top three

Wenlock arms, two mild on cask and six other ales, which most where new to me. A very interesting place unfortunately the other half was not impressed with it

Market porter, one had one pint here but the lad around 6-8 ales on cask with many I have never heard of and a 70 shilling I was not expecting the south of the border. There is also a really fantastic market in the Borough and a nice little bottle beer shop as well

Harp, very nice place and a good rangy of ale that differs for the classic of pride and such.

Others

Round house had old peculiar on cask, seems to be regular of the last while, the Lamb and flag was also good. The Salisbury also had Woodfords Wherry on cask, both in around convent garden.

The Citte of york had the cheep pints, pint and a half 2.80

Thanks again for all the input

I find the English are very unadventurous with beer generally. I'd say about 90% of their microbreweries' output is in two or three basic styles, albeit with quite a bit of variation within them. There's very little room for stouts or fruit beers or lagers.

Plus, stout and lager are totally dominated by the keg market so why try to compete?

I would have like to see fullers make there porter a regular brewer than a seasonal one. I was disappointed with Sam Smith in the citte of york, one one cask beer and the the draught for something that looked little beer than a home brew tap. but a good range of bottle beers

There is a market of stout, its a matter of trying to capture the market, maybe Michael o'leary my get involved, low price cask stouts <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

I quite fancy some of that Yo-Ho Tokyo Black or the Stone Double IPA.
