Cotton Ball Brewery 12 years 4 months ago #1

The Cotton Ball in Mayfield, Cork, is now serving[/url:l4w9fvop] its own stout and lager. The official launch is an 25th January at 6pm.

The kit looks pretty swish. Anyone know the back story?

Was there yesterday. Just have stout on for now and it's excellent. Master brewer is brendan dobbin guy who was involved in setting up the porterhouse. Plan is for a lager and then bottle some products. Jack lynch the owner said they have no plans to do draught outside of the bar.
I would say that will change very quickly based on the superior quality of the beer. They also have a great story behind the family that will influence the names of the beers.true history not blarney Great to see beer like this coming from such a new start up.
It's a true family brewery with jack and his two sons working the plant. The pub is in the same family since 1870.
A sure sign of the times when a suburban bar is investing in a craft set up.

Hi Guys.

Thanks Shane for your positive comments. It is really encouraging to get a good review of the brews in particular.
I am one of the two sons Shane mentioned.
Been meaning to post updates on our progress but the last few months have been hectic.
While I am at it I would like to extend a warm invite to any Beoir members who can make it to the launch on the 25th of January. I will post further details as I have them, we currently have a stout and lager and are working on a pale ale.

The set up looks fantastic, the Brewery and the Pub compliment each other 100%.

Concentrate on the lager! There are a lot of great craft stouts and pales on the market but lagers?? <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt="" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->

If you can brew a decent craft lager then you will chuckle all the way to the bank! (maybe even laugh)

Will their stout is outstanding. The area that the pub is in would be a stout heartland . Their stout I believe will have a massive dent on the macro brews.
