I'll fight anyone who thinks the Karmeliet is better than Westmalle Triple!
Each to his own but not when it comes to Westmalle.
Next thing someone will be challenging Orval!

I used to love Kwack but now find it very sugary!

Deus is nice but unless it's ice cold - it's VERY sweet,then some of the other flavours are a bit lost.
Still, I did serve it at my wedding and it does get you very nicedrunk and one becomes accustomed to the sweetness.

Hey Kid at the risk of you battering me I preferred the Westmalle duble to the triple. Would prefer Karmeliet to the Westmalle Triple! I better duck and run fast!!!!!

I like both, but they are at two different ends of the sprectrum.


Westmalle triple is the orignal of the style and is very simple pilsner malt (70-80%) and sugar (20-30%), where as Karmeliet has a lot of unmalted grain in it
