Great article, sounds like you had a blast. Declan, I presume you get more brewers passes if any of us make it in future? <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

There you have it folks: Why is craft beer more expensive?
Answer: Because craft brewers travel everywhere by rented limo.

The Americans sure know how to do it, but I really don't like double IPA's. Had an Old Burton Dogfishead Double IPA last night and it was way too sweet and not very bitter at all. The hops get lost in all the alcohol and residual extract.

there are exceptions and the Avery brewery that I visited in Boulder prided itself on the amount of hops that they used, apparently they use more hops than any brewery in Colorado, including New Belgian Brewing company. They explained that Double IPA's, barley wines and Imperial IPA's have been reclassified recently, exact differences I'm not sure but the Newport beach guys favourite brew was the seasonal Maharaja brew which as an Imoerial IPA, bitter citrus, not sweet with abv.9.78% and IBU's: 102
