Cantillon Brewery, Brussels – A taste of the wild? 17 years 5 months ago #1

Cantillon brewery in Brussels is one of the world's great beer pilgrimages, I reckon. Beer Novice has given us his account[/url:2wfyfn6w] of a visit to the shrine of lambic and gueuze.

Good article. Made me want to plan another visit to Brussels.

Thanks for the article Beer Novice! I have always fancied visiting Cantillon, but have never managed to tear myself away from companions who would probably not appreciate a visit. I drank a Cantillon geuze two weeks ago in Ghent; I am finding myself drawn more towards the sourer brews as I grow older (and probably get sourer myself!).

I also note that in "100 Belgian Beers to Try Before you Die" they list 4 or 5 from Cantillon, but state that they really should include ALL of the Cantillon brews, but for balance cut the number in the book.

Cantillon is a great place to see and for those who are planning a trip try and go to one of their two open-to-the-public brewing days in the year. Not only do you experience the hustle and bustle of a working brewery while trying to stay out of the way of the patient brewers but I figure they stock a wider range of their beers for sale that day, many one-off and more unusual brews(yes, even unusual by lambic standards!)I brought home 7 different Cantillon 75cl bottles!

Great article! Heading to bruxelles in a couple of weeks but unfortunately won't get to the brewery (it's a work jaunt) hopefully i'll get to try a cantillon somewhere in town though.

I was away last week, so I'm on catchup, but that is a good article. Not been to Brussels yet, but I'll get there some day, and would love to fit this in with a visit.
