Yippee! looks like I'm off to the Dam for next week on a 'training course'. I'm not sure the company realises I'll mainly be [i:2r5ppyk4][b:2r5ppyk4]retraining [/b:2r5ppyk4][/i:2r5ppyk4]- my palette to fine beers, and my wallet to sensible prices!

I have one and a half words for you: 't IJ.

actually that's two really, 't is short for "Het" which is 'The' in dutch. It's still pronounced as 'Het'

Anyway, I've picked a hotel near here[/url:jzs459tj]

edit:
actually I've picked a damn good hotel location!

Indeed. That's a nice part of town, food-and-beerwise. There's a fancy off licence in the basement of a supermarket down the bottom of Spuistraat.

Actually, that's a Dam good location!
Very close to the Dam.
Café Belgique is one of my favourite pubs even if it is very small. Mind that steep stairs on the way back from the toilets!!
Don't forget Cafe Gollem, 't Loosje, In de Wildeman, Het Arendsnest, Elfde Gebod, De Zotte, 't Smalle.....................
I'll be there in October.
