Ken, how much were the St Sixtuses? I've heard some frightening tales of overpricing and was wondering if they are actually sold at sane prices anywhere.

I've just arrived in Brussels and will be beer hunting tomorrow.

Yes, the Westvleteren (I see now you just scored the one).

So I shouldn't feel hard done by if I pay a tenner a bottle, then? Grand.

apparently they'r 1.80 in the abbey though!
IIRC the West-10 was about 8 or 9 euro. Might be cheaper in Belgium though. but for reference, the Cafe Gollem it's E12 for a bottle of 12
Enjoy.!

Oh yes, I know how much they cost if you give your car reg in Flemish via the monkphone[/url:2pqmqi6r] [size=75:2pqmqi6r]Stupid monks[/size:2pqmqi6r]

However, I am interested in what the mark-up is in what's basically a black market.

I was in Biertempel today where they had two sorts (green-top and blue-top) for €6.50 each. When I went back to buy I just missed closing time by a couple of minutes, so I'll be going back in the morning.

The Delerium Café, with its 2004 beers, doesn't stock Westvleteren at all. Amateurs!

my 12 is a black top. it also says 12 in a circle on it. I think i'm going to leave mine unopened until my 35th birthday. Or until the birth of my first child (unplanned as of yet, never mind concieved!) whichever comes second...
Or until I come home pissed one night and find it.
