Site speed 16 years 2 months ago #1

I've made some changes at the back end that I hope will improve page render times on the site. Could people give me some feedback please on whether you notice forum or main site pages displaying quicker, or not? <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> It feels a lot snappier to me, but then I'm expecting it to be...

Thanks

The forum does seem to be running quicker alright.
The database must be a fair size by now. How big is it?

According to the phpBB backend, 51MB for the forum. The Joomla part is much smaller at about 18.

Have you got a copy of all the images that are used in the articles on the fromt of the site? or are they still linked to peoples own photobucket accounts?

No, all the images in articles are being served from photobucket, usually the central ICB account or occasionally authors' own accounts. In terms of overall site traffic, images are very low, as it's really only the site header (which I also re-saved to shed a few KB) and other look and feel graphics that are coming from here.
