Ah, if it's like BoI you have to pre-register accounts to do credit transfers. PITA.

Ok, I'm just waiting on the failed order number from Corkboy so I can do a complete report to them. If it is a systematic issue, it's recent as there appears to have been a successful order on the 24th.

Yeah it's BOI.
I also emailed spreadshirt today and got the following response re failed orders:

"Many thanks for your email.

Due to security at our payment provider the system might not accept credit cards if e.g. the billing address you gave is different from the one the card is registered to, or if you give a different name or even salutation. Also, you cannot order from a different country from which the card is registered.

You can try placing your order again making sure that all relevant data (Billing address etc) is entered correctly.

Or you may like to try again to place your order but with a different payment method or credit card used.

Please be aware that after 3 unsuccessful attempts you will only be able to choose pre-payment as a payment method.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

For further questions please don't hesitate to contact me again."

I met all the criteria with regard to name details etc.
After the 3 unsuccesful attempts I opted for the per pay and as I said that didn't work out either.

Ok, I'll look into it. As a fall back, you could register their account with BoI so you can make payments/credit transfers online, but that's clearly not the handiest option.

Well, the last successful order was placed on 24.07.2009. There was then a cancelled order on 29.07.2009 and 31.07.2009.

An order was placed today, but I cannot tell if it went all the way through yet. I am wondering if this has been resolved.

Thanks!

Well, I got the following response to my support query. According to them there's noting inherantly wrong with the system, and it's probably fair to say that the acceptance/refusal of a credit card is in the control of another service provider that they use for the transactions.

It might be worth asking your bank, just in case there's another problem. I'm really sorry you're having a problem with it. <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( -->

[quote:1zomqomy]Of the 2 order numbers you sent one was cancelled by the customer and the other had the payment refused by our payment processor.

One of your forum members has posted a list of the normal reasons why a payment can be refused. (I'll give these reasons again at the end of the mail)

Unfortunately, we do not recive an exact reason why a payment is refused and can only indicate a possible reason.

We are not experiencing any problems receiving payment from Ireland and as long as the correct card and billing information is given the payment should go through.

For your customers who cannot pay by credit card we have also given the option of bank transfer.

Due to security at our payment provider the system might not accept credit cards if e.g. the billing address given is different from the one the card is registered to, or if a different name or even salutation is given. Also, you cannot order from a different country from which the card is registered.

I hope this information helps you.
