I often see the yanks using fire extinguishers in youtube videos, so there must be 'a way' but I like the direction this thread is taking.
Don't think leinster and munster co2 are related anymore. Leinster answer the phone with some other company name, I asked is this leinster co2, and the girl said they had just taken over from them. That was about 6 or 7 weeks back.
But .... She said they were buying their co2 cylinders in from the uk. They were waiting on a batch at the time. And back then she told me it would be 60, so theyre acting the magget a bit I think now.

So where else can we find CO2 cylinders?:

The fire extinguiser market supplies brand new, shinny, red CO2 cylinders, full of CO2 for a reasonable price.

BUT, the down side is that they have no regulator so no way to connect a reg so we can use them for Cornies.

So: can we find a FE supplier who can remove the FE valve and nozzle and fit a standard CO2 cylinder valve that will connect to a CO2 regulator??

After all when these Cornies hit these shores we are looking at a short fall of 30, 40, or even 50 CO2 bottles

apparently the cone shaped thing should screw off the extinguisher and and the standard thread for co2 cylinders is left exposed. So you can just screw on the reg in its place...
But as for the price, first hit on google for places in ireland, sells 2kg extinguishers for ~75 euro.
5kg for 130 ... So leinster are cheap in that regard.
But you may get better value on a bulk buy in the uk

Well the one I bought yesterday was a fire extinguisher with a connection to take a co2 regulator on top..
I had to collect it in Doyle&Doyle in tallaght, they sell fire extinguishers.

The mixed gas bottle supplied to pubs have a female thread connection. You can adapt it to have a male fitting for the co2 regulator, but is there any other issues with these bottles.

Do they contain food grade Co2?
I believe there is difference in content of additional gases. standard - none food grade may have additional gases that may be harmful when consumed.
