US is 110V (unless I missed something?) (Frequency doesn't matter for simple electrical equipment. It only really matters for electronics)

You'll be able to use it, but because it's such high output the wiring required to work it (even on this side of the Atlantic) is already a little unusual as it exceeds the 13 amps that a single socket gives out.[/quote:1inxnlzt]

You missed something. 240v circuits are available in the US. They're normally just used for electric clothes dryers or ovens. The normal wall plugs are 120v, but there are "funky" looking plugs (they look similar to the oven plugs here) that can do 240v if hooked into a breaker that's set to do 240v.
(I don't understand electricity too much but I think it's two separate phases of 120v power and the two get combined together and give you 240v.) -I don't understand the theory but I've actually put in a 240v breaker, supporting wiring, and a plug for a 240v dryer.

However I can do extra holes for provided extra fittings.

This Keggle, doesn't have a lid. This is something I can provide, but I need to do workshop to manufacture it.[/quote:38xx86w2]

I have a solution for a sight glass. Just the holes were the problem for me. (I don't have any equipment, nor confidence to make a hole in a stainless steel keg.)

Sure, I can fit sight glass if you have one or sensor (no extra cost <!-- s:-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:-) --> ) send me link to it so I can plan to make sure I have tools.

If you put two 110v together you will get 110.
To get 220 converter is required. And it is usually limited in output.
3phase can deliver more power using smaller wires

Adam, back in the states you can get a 220v "dryer" socket installed, if memory serves it's 16A or 25A 220V - but my American electrical standards wouldn't be as current or correct as my Irish standards...

Exactly. I'm not pulling this stuff out of thin air or some sort of theory, I KNOW this stuff can be done and I've done it before (despite not understanding how it actually works). Shocking, I know but the US can run 110v or 220v power. (Having said that you need a change made at the breaker box, you need much thicker gauge wire run to the outlet, and you need the correct style outlet installed.
