The only place I've ever seen them in real life was The Wellington in Hull. Never heard reports on how the beer is, though. That the premise is based on the customer already having had a few and needing more is perhaps an important aspect of the product.

(The Brewery Tap in Chester is lovely too.)

well they range from $15 to $20 on the US homebrew sites before P&P and any of the UK micro's that I've see do them, there is a £12 to £15 difference between new and refill prices, but there are defiantly cheaper ways to store beer.

[quote:7ak7669b]I was thinking of getting one of these a while ago and i love the idea of it, but i want to wait till it becomes clearer what the Irish Breweries and Brewpubs stance in on filling these for us...if there will be a market there.[/quote:7ak7669b]

Personally I'm just going to use them for my beer and if the craft beer pubs start filling them I'll consider it a bonus.

Dunno, I'm pretty tempted to get a few, if for nothing more than looking good on the shelf in the bar...

As I said there are cheaper ways to store beer/condition beer but growlers do look class.
