The manual states it will cool a minikeg from 21C to 6-8C in 6-8 hours. So if you want more accuracy than that you would indeed need an additional temp controller.

6-8c would mean it's only any good for lagers in my book, it'd need to be up around the 12c to interest me as an ale dispenser.
