How much sugar solution would you prime a 5 litre mini keg with in order for it not to explode without a pressure valve?

There was a bit of a discussion on the minikegs thing here[/url:p5yv5vcn]. It seems they have a short lifespan unless you take great care of them.

Just in case...

Oxi cleaner will get into all the corners easy enough, but I suppose there's the risk it'll eat the tin alive.

I think Oxi is fine with stainless, besides it doesn't take such a long soak to clean with it. I've still got an empty DAB minikeg that I bought a few months back that I'm keen to test out.

edit: Oops, minikegs aren't stainless, I would have thought aluminium would be OK too, no?

I expect it's the thin coating "plastic" on the inside of the can that you need to avoid damaging. Scrubbing is probably a no-no and harsh chemicals out.
Where I doing this I'd make sure to wash well straight after use with lots of water; then sterilize with the no rinse bleach and vinegar solution and hope for the best.
