Just got round to reading this thread, first off I think its great what you guys are doing. But setting aside all the issues with different taxation, legislation etc between the two jurisdications the elephant in the room has to be that an organisation already exists up here, the CAMRA (NI) branch of (which im a member of) which is also part of the larger and very influential (100 thousand+ members) CAMRA organisation.
Surely some sort of tie up with the camra NI branch (in much the same way as beior will be working with the other EU organisations) would be preferable and would also prevent unnesecarry duplication.
