And once done with the Bierhaus (if that's even possible), stroll a bit further and stop by the Abbott (I heard that there might be some cask there around that time, though it might go pretty fast).

It was already on my 'To Visit List'(for Saturday) but depending on how things go at the Festival I may well look-in there along with the Bierhaus on Friday night.

Just in case any cask beer on there does indeed get all supped on the first night of the festival.

Fionnbarras on Douglas street always has a cask on. It changes from week to week, it was Pedigree last week, Greene King the week before.

If anyone fancies some grub before going to the Franciscan Well the Bierhalle, next to the BIerhaus is open from 12 to 3 for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Brunch menu on its facebook page. Also open in the evenings too of course. I imagi the Well will have wood-oven fired pizza stall and burgers on as well. Pizzas smelt very good last Friday night I must say - did not sample then but maybe over the week-end!!!

Pizzas in the bierhalle are fantastic and they a beer and pizza deal that is rather good.
