Hot dogs are usually made of beef though aren't they? I thought that's what differentiates them from sausages.

About half six.

I may be calling the trades description people. The name seems to imply they're made of a different animal entirely...

Hot dogs are usually Pork. You can get beef hot dogs but usually it is pork.

Was just speaking to Colin, and mentioned to him that the Bus to Trouble (!) was leaving from his pub tomorrow lunchtime - all news to him apparently! They're going to open at 1pm especially, no food yet though, so pickled eggs and wasabi nuts only to go with the beer. That should leave plenty of room for the hot dogs, which are made (according to the gospel of wikipedia) from "mechanically separated meat".

Once you get to that stage, I don't think it matters what it was separated from. Mmmmmmmm! <!-- s:-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:-) -->

Learn something new every day, I always thought pork meant sausages and beef meant hot dog. I have suspected that some hot dogs I was eating didn't contain any beef but I assumed it was rat or squirrel or something like that. Not pork.
