According to Bord Bia's twitter account is seriously under review (I am taking this means cancelled). Seemingly they will be making moves to showcase the beers at 'Bloom' which is their only other consumer event.

I am sure others have heard the same. I think it is a shame.

Well last year thousands of people turned up and had a very nice time in the Phoenix park, without causing any trouble. That sort of thing can't be allowed to continue!

Perhaps they are just reviewing what can be done to ensure the monstrous queues that formed last year at all the stands doesn't happen again, as for me it really took away from the enjoyment/atmosphere of both days

Still had a good time though, just think it could be organised slightly better to allow for such large crowds.

Any of the breweries could have paid staff and walked away with thousands in additional profits such was the demand. Carlow, Whitewater and Porterhouse could have set up seperate stands selling bottles.

However, the big variable in attendance is the weather. A huge number of people were there last year because it was one of the warmest weekends of the year.

I wouldn't permit that if I were organising it. If I were [i:2hddindw]insuring[/i:2hddindw] it I'd be banning bottle sales altogether, because the system didn't work last year and people just opened bottles outside to drink them.
