Is Paulener such a bad beer? Or is it just cos its run by some faceless macro that we dont like it?[/quote:2u1qw5z8]
If its beer fest I would expect more than one beer
Ah, they're not so faceless: Paulaner belongs to the BHI (Brau Holding International AG), a joint venture between Schörghuber Ventures (50.1%) and Heineken (49.9%). I guess it's the big marketing machine that put some off, as they're everywhere in Ireland (and everywhere else) since Heineken got involved.
They own a bunch of other stuff[/url:1bsg52uz]. Was surprised to see Schmucker there.
Sorry for the following too much information

3 pints at the octoberfest last year in the docks gave me one of the most savage hangovers I've ever had.
I won't be returning this year, although there were good sausages to be had. The queue for the toilets on the saturday night were an hour apparently, according to the OHs sister. Just as well I'm a guy, cos the world is my toilet.
Quite like Paulaner by the bottle though, but having experienced the hangover from draught more than once I'm staying away. Pity, cos I like it, and it's a reasonably available alternative..

They're not so bad, much more approachable than other suppliers. As kenmc said, it is a great alternative to whats usually available, but yeah, the hangovers are awfull.
I will however, look forward to several Paulanerhangovers during October.

Also, Im curious to see if it has the same affect (hangoverwise) as on Ken & Geoff. Finally, Im curious about the "good sausage"...
