Well it was billed as the Pauaner Oktoberfest after all !

Must admit I do prefer they way they serve the beer in smaller portions in the Northern parts but I have been in Munich and Southern Germany a lot and most big beerhalles serve Masskrugs in Winter or Summer and most of the customers seem to speak German .[/quote:1hc9p9de]

Hmmm maybe the Southern experience is more about warm stale beer then, fair enough, still no excuse to hanker after the things.

+1

Some people don't seem to realise that pubs have to apply to the courts to have their license renewed and any perceived lack of cooperation with the Gardai would not go down well in the court.

I think I was drinking Rebel Lager at that point, did have some Paulaner at some stage though I think it was in a pint glass. Nice to have hear the B&Cs side of it, so thanks for that Geoff! Seems like a fair enough explanation really.

Well I dont find them to be either stale or warm but suppose its all about personal test and how fast you drink.
