Ahoy there ICBers!
Hear ye hear ye! The Beer Baron would like to let it be known that the next OghamBrew Craftbrewers’ Festival will take place on Friday the 28th of November 2008 in Na Fianna GAA Clubhouse, Mobhi Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 9. Doors open at 7:30pm
There are 15 teams of brewers taking part in this event, brewing a range of beers including ale, stout, bitter, lager, wheat beer, Mexican cerveza, Belgian wit grand cru and more. There is even one team making fruit wine. Brews will be judged by a panel of judges including none other than ICB’s own “sbillings” and “TheBeerNut”. There will also be a People’s Choice Award voted for by the masses.
I would like to extend an invitation to any and all members of the ICB community who wish to attend. Visitor passes are available for €30. There will be free beer, free food and spot prizes on the night and visitors are entitled to participate in the judging for the People’s Choice Award and to take part in a quiz, with the chance of winning prizes.
Several weeks ago a couple of the OghamBrewers met up with “sbillings” and “TheBeerNut” for a few pints and a chat. From checking out ICB it was clear that when it comes to beer, these lads know their stuff. And from seeing the smiles on their faces as they supped their beverages it was clear that they really love beer. So we suggested that they join our judging panel and we were very pleased that they agreed to lend their expertise.
As we explained to them that evening, the number of participants for this event has doubled since the last festival. In the future, we are hoping to expand the event further to allow the various craft brewers from the ICB community to enter their own brews to be judged.
If you’d like to get a visitor pass and attend the festival, or if you have any questions just let me know.
(I am contactable through our website below.)
