Hilden 2008 17 years 8 months ago #1

Hilden has been confirmed as going ahead on Friday 22 to Sunday 24 August.
More details here[/url:yz6v3jgx].

They aren't doing any free admission this year, though there's free food instead, [i:yz6v3jgx]and[/i:yz6v3jgx] Frances from Hilden has offered us a group discount if we want to arrange an outing.

So, I thought perhaps any of our northern members who will be attending might like to suggest a day for an ICB meet-up at the festival. If there's sufficient interest I'll get back to Frances and arrange the discount.

I'd strongly encourage any southern members to give it serious consideration: Hilden is easy to get to from Dublin Connolly via Portadown. It's a superb little festival, great Irish craft beer, casks from the UK, and a much better atmosphere than any CAMRA-run event I've been to (much less beardy-fartiness, for instance). My experiences last year are documented here[/url:yz6v3jgx].

Anyone up for it?

Sounds like a geat day out, that weekend is already accounted for though. Maybe next year... (I'm sure I said that last year)

I'd be interested in heading up for a day or two. I'd probably get one or two friends to tag along.

TBN did a great review last year and I said to myself at the time I must get there next year. Won't be able to make it this year but hopefully over the next few years will. No brewery menu available yet but based on last year's report it looked v.good. I would be more interested in the beer than the music like the rest of ICB-ers!!!!!
