So, if all the brewers set up a sort of bar at the tables to serve and discuss their produce. Obviously they can move around and sample other people's brews too <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> The main thing is that the beer stays in the same place and the people move around. There can be a separate zone for food and glasses/rinsing water.

I don't think we'd necessarily need to limit brewers to one beer each, but if you only want to bring one, do.

Does that make sense? Is it practical?

Considering the numbers involved on the night, sectioning off areas for this that and t'other may involve a lot of space.

I'm not too sure how much we can afford to take up, until we see on the night.

Hate to put out campfires, but i dont want to upset the proprietor, thus endangering future events.

The beer staying in one place is a good idea, if we leave information relating to each beer along side. Maybe this way, we get to taste specific styles of brew as opposed to a bit of everything, which is my own preference anyway.

I get the growing impression that you'll have to have the final say on the format, Geoff. We've never run anything this size before, and we will obviously have to do it in a way that suits you and owner of the B&C if, as you say, we want to hold any more.

If we have a self-service beer area/table, we could do it in two shifts, with the pale beers replaced by the dark beers at 9 or 9.30 (assuming there's any left).

Might that work?

Have we decided on a starting time?

7. Though, with the more free-form self-service model, you're not likely to miss much if you're late.

How about the beers spread over as few tables as possible(2-3), with members using their sample glass to peruse whats on offer.

If i rearrange the furniture slightly, it should leave some space for moving around table to table.

After a period of time we could wrap up the sampling and get down to some food and beer talk.
